David Craig McNaught

Brief Biography 

David was born and raised in Montreal, a graduate of Loyola and McMaster and was a secondary school teacher in Montreal until he moved to Toronto where he did some supply teaching and writing for the CBC. He was diagnosed with AIDS in the early days but lived to benefit from the new therapies. He used his time well, volunteering on former Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne’s early campaigns, chairing a homeless shelter for men and being active in tenants rights. He was an avid gardener, film buff and foodie and a dog lover. He quit both smoking and drinking, but died of complications from AIDS and a second heart attack. He is missed by mutual friends Bev and Carole (deceased), Shelley and Mark, and Chuck (deceased). 

Favourite Memory 

Spending weekends with him eating, watching movies, going for walks with his dog, and playing scrabble.
