Brief Biography

David (DeeDee) was larger than life.  And we all loved him for it.  He was so many things to so many people.  And we are richer for it.  David’s work for the Foundation for Equal Families was instrumental to the cause.  He made a significant impact to other causes as well.  David’s fierce loyalty to all causes, people and pets he held dear was legendary.

Favourite Memory

There are too many memories, happy and sad from which to choose.  It is impossible to honour just one.  We will forever cherish the time we had to spend together.  For the good times.

Message to loved one

Dear David: We all love you and miss you (and our sweet Berkley) very much.  You made us braver, fiercer, stronger and wiser.  Virtually everything I needed to know about life, I learned from The Little Prince.  Depending on the day, you were the fox, the rose or the little prince himself.  And like Dorothy (and Judy), you have made it over the rainbow.  You have earned your flowers. Rest in power, prince.  We will always love you, truly, madly and deeply.

Reflections about HIV and AIDS Awareness

Some people heroically fight life and death battles more or less alone, for various reasons, good, bad, and between.  This was often the case earlier in the epidemic, and there is still an element of this today.  There should be no shame in an HIV/AIDS diagnosis. Let’s redouble our efforts to combat stigma, support education and prevention, and to eradicate HIV in our lifetime.
